Usage Note 22548: Saving or displaying the linear or quadratic discriminant function coefficients
If the default options METHOD=NORMAL and POOL=YES are
used, then the function coefficients are in the printed output labeled Linear
Discriminant Function. These linear coefficients are also stored in the OUTSTAT=
data set. If the options METHOD=NORMAL and POOL=NO are used, then the resulting
quadratic discriminant functions are stored in the OUTSTAT= data only.
When
the option METHOD=NPAR is specified, no functions are used and therefore they
cannot be displayed or output. With METHOD=NPAR, an observation is classified
by determining the group for which it has the maximum density (if using R=)
or the largest number of the nearest neighbors (if K=is used). For more information on the nonparametric methods, see Background in the DISCRIM chapter of the SAS/STAT User's Guide. For more on the contents of the OUTSTAT= data set, see the Output Data Sets section of the DISCRIM chapter.
