Usage Note 22377: Converting COBOL data descriptions to a SAS® INPUT statement
SAS provides a free program called COB2SAS
that takes a COBOL File Descriptor (FD) as its input and creates SAS INPUT and LABEL statements. These statements can be used to read a file and create a SAS data set. This program is available for MVS, CMS, VSE, and OpenVMS operating environments by request. It is also available in a downloadable form.
