Problem Note 21153: SAS® Drug Development 3.4 - Font file is missing when using DBCS UTF8 and ODS PDF Output
A font file is missing when using DBCS UTF8 and the Output Delivery System (ODS) and Portable Document Format (PDF) output.
When entering code to generate a PDF file using the ODS in SAS® Drug Development version 3.4, the following warning is generated in the SAS® log:
WARNING: Font specification "MS Gothic" failed. Using default font family instead.
When the file is displayed, the DBCS text is incorrect and appears garbled. This is due to a missing MS Gothic font file. This problem only occurs on DBCS UTF8 instances of SAS® Drug Development 3.4.
When the MS Gothic font file referenced on the Hot Fix download page is
installed, ODS code and PDF output works as expected.
Open a JIRA ticket and request that this change be made to the instance with this issue.
