Problem Note 21021: Some national characters in variable names might be converted to other
characters when the options VALIDVARNAME=ANY and GETNAMES=YES
Some national characters in variable names might be converted to other
characters when the options VALIDVARNAME=ANY and GETNAMES=YES.
For example, when you import a Japanese CSV file with the options VALIDVARNAME=ANY
and GETNAMES=YES, some SAS variable names that contains Japanese characters will be incorrectly convered to other characters.
options validvarname=any;
PROC IMPORT OUT= WORK.DATA
DATAFILE= "\temp\file.csv"
DBMS=CSV REPLACE;
GETNAMES=YES;
DATAROW=2;
RUN;
