Usage Note 20183: Identifying the SAS® installation data file (SID file) that is currently applied to your SAS® 9.1 installation
To identify the current SID file that is applied to a SAS installation, view the sid.txt file that is located, by default, in c:\program files\sas\sas 9.1\core\sasinst.
The sid.txt file contains the SID file that was applied during the latest installation or the latest Renew SAS Software process.
The original name of the SID file is listed on or near line 19 of the sid.txt file, after indexfile.txt. The SID filename is usually in the format SAS91_12345.txt, where 12345 is replaced with
the order number.
Caution: Do not modify this file or point to this file during an installation or during the Renew SAS Software process. If you point to this file, the file will be deleted.
