Problem Note 20002: SAS/ACCESS® software import and export errors might be caused by printer drivers
The following errors have been reported when using SAS/ACCESS software to import or export data. The errors might occur with various printers, but they have been known to happen with an HP printer as the default printer.
The issue occurs on, but is NOT limited to, HP and Compaq printers, machines, laptops, or tablets. The following error is generated:
ERROR: Connect:
ERROR: Error in the LIBNAME statement.
NOTE: Export Cancelled.

If applying the hot fix is not an option, you can change correct the problem in either of the following ways:
- Change your default printer setting to another printer, as follows:
- Select File ► Print Setup.
- Select another printer (for example,the Microsoft Image Writer).
- Click the Default button to set the new printer as your default printer.
- If no other printers are available, add printers to your system, as follows:
- Select Start ► Settings ► Printers and Faxes.
- Under Printer Tasks, in the left pane, select Add a printer. This displays the Add a Printer wizard.
- Follow the steps in the wizard and select a printer (for example, the Microsoft Image Writer).
- Complete the steps in the wizard, making sure to select Yes for the option Do you want to use this prionter as the default printer?.
- Click Finish when you are done.

Release is the software release in which the problem is planned to be
fixed.
When importing SAS Excel or Access data, conflicts between the HP drivers and the Microsoft JET Engines can cause connect errors.
