Usage Note 20920: How do I rename a SAS® Enterprise Miner(tm) 5.x project?
There is no menu item or selection to rename a project. However, you can rename a project
by renaming the project directory to the new name that you want. Then, use SAS Enterprise Miner to create a new project using that new name. This sequence ensures that the project name and
the metadata that contains that name are synchronized.
Example: your project name is "MyTestProject", and is located in the path
"C:\EM_Projects". You want to change the name to "SalesModel". Follow these steps:
Rename the project directory using an operating system copy command.
Change "C:\EM_Projects\MyTestProject" to
"C:\EM_Projects\SalesModel"
Open SAS Enterprise Miner (log on if prompted). At the "Welcome to Enterprise
Miner" screen, select New Project.
In the "Create New Project" screen, give the new project the exact name that
you used to rename the project folder. In this example, use the name "SalesModel".
Specify the path as the location of the project folder. In this example the path is
"C:\EM_Projects".
Click OK. SAS Enterprise Miner recognizes that the project already
exists and registers it in the metadata repository. The datasources, diagrams, start-up
code, and so on, are all read from the existing data in the project folder.
After you confirm that the new project opens and that you are able to access it, you can
delete the old project name from the metadata. Follow these steps:
- Select Open Project.
Select the old project name from the listing, and click Delete. A
confirmation window appears and this message is displayed: "Project could not be
deleted. Would you like to remove it from this list?"
- Select Yes to remove the old project name from the list.
