Problem Note 20714: TIMESTAMP format does not work for all foreign languages
The following error may be issued when inserting timestamp values into Oracle using SAS/ACCESS® Interface to Oracle.
ERROR: ORACLE execute error: ORA-01830: date format picture ends before converting entire input string.
The format used for fractions of a second 'SSXFF' does not work for all locales even though NLS_DATE_LANGUAGE="American" is set.
To work-around this Oracle bug, select the Hot Fix tab in this note to access the hot fix for this issue.
Customers will appreciate this fix ONLY when NLS_LANGUAGE is set to a foreign language other than English. With this hotfix, timestamp inserts will now work (without users having to change their locale to American for the whole session).
