Problem Note 20665: SAS® programs that access a SAS/SHARE® server library might become unresponsive
A client SAS session that accesses a SAS library through a SAS/SHARE server might become unresponsive.
This problem occurs when the client session is running SAS 9.1.3 SP2 and later or when the hot fix for
Problem Notes 13425, 13720, and 18423 has been installed.
This is a timing-related issue and thus happens only sporadically. The hot fix is necessary
for SAS/AF® programs that access a SAS/SHARE server. However, with the hot fix, other
tasks that access a SAS/SHARE server might stop responding, requiring them to be canceled.
For SAS 9.3, a new TKMVSENV environment variable is available to control this behavior. Create a separate file to be included in the TKMVSENV ddname concatenation only for the problem JOB. In this file, set the new environment variable with the following line:
set VTGWAIT_BYPASS=Y
For SAS 9.1.3, contact SAS Technical Support for a special consideration zap and instructions.
Operating System and Release Information

For software releases that are not yet generally available, the Fixed
Release is the software release in which the problem is planned to be
fixed.
After you apply hot fixes for Problem Notes 13425, 13720, and 18423, or with SAS 9.1.3 SP2 and beyond, SAS programs that access libraries via a SAS/SHARE server might stop responding. These tasks must be canceled.
