Usage Note 20581: How do I set up SAS to read Thai data?
- Re-set regional and language settings for your PC
- Click Start=>Settings=>Control Panel=>Regional and Language Options.
- Under Regional Options tab=>Standards and Formats, select
Thai.
- Under Languages tab=>Supplemental language support, select the
"Install files for complex script and right-to-left languages"
check box for Thai, Arabic, Hebrew, and so on.
- Under Advanced tab=>Language for Non-unicode programs, select
Thai.
- Under Advanced tab=>Code conversion tables, click each check box
for Thai.
- Click OK and reboot.
- Change SAS system options for languages
- Open c:\program files\sas\sas 9.1\nls\en\sasv9.cfg.
- Make these changes:
/* Set Windows Locale */
/*-LOCALE "en_US" */
-locale "thai_thailand"
- Select File=>Save.
- Open SAS 9.1 (English) and set fonts
- Select the Log window.
- Select Tools=>Options=>Fonts.
- Change the font to Courier New or to a language-specific font
- Change the Script setting to Thai.
Note: You cannot use the SASFont or SAS Monospace Font because
these only support western encoding.
