Problem Note 20326: The IMPORT Procedure in SAS® Enterprise Guide® does not read Excel data properly
PROC IMPORT code, to read an Excel file into SAS®, that is executed from
the Code Window in SAS Enterprise Guide creates a data set that contains
character variable values that are set to 0.
Running the same code in Foundation SAS to read the same Excel file
will produce the data set correctly, with the expected character
variable values.
If you convert the Excel file to a delimited text file (such as a .CSV
file), the data is imported into SAS Enterprise Guide® correctly.
Select the Hot Fix tab in this note to access the hot fix for this issue.
