Problem Note 20130: Aliases columns or aliased tables in the SQL procedure blocks Implicit
Pass-Through
Using the LIBNAME statement as the access method, PROC SQL queries that
contain aliased in-line views, aliased columns, or aliased tables can
cause incorrect textualization of the query.
Incorrect query textualization can prevent Implicit Pass-Through from
passing the query to the associated database for execution. As a result,
the query will be executed in SAS instead. Significant performance
problems can occur because of the potential for retrieving large amounts
of data that are returned to SAS before the processing is finished.
