Usage Note 19774: SAS® 9.1.3 SP4 for Windows does not support access to Microsoft Office 2007 Excel and Microsoft Access 2007 with certain SAS/ACCESS® software

DetailsAboutRate It

SAS 9.1.3 Service Pack 4 for Windows does not support access for file formats in Microsoft Office 2007 Excel and Microsoft Access 2007 with SAS/ACCESS® Interface to PC Files software.

You need to save the 2007 Excel file in the Microsoft Excel Workbook (*.xls) format for it to be read into SAS with the SAS/ACCESS software mentioned previously.

You also need to convert Microsoft Access 2007 databases to the Access 2002-2003 file format for it to be read into SAS with SAS/ACCESS software.

You can use SAS/ACCESS® Interface to OLE DB or SAS/ACCESS® Interface to ODBC to access the 2007 versions of these file formats.

Support for the Office 2007 file format in SAS/ACCESS Interface to PC Files is available with SAS® 9.2 Phase 2.

For detailed information on reading Excel 2007 files see SAS Note 32455, "The EXCEL and XLS engines do not support the importing and exporting of Microsoft Office 2007 files in SAS® 9.1.3 and SAS® 9.2 Phase 1".
