Problem Note 19322: Performance problems when using encryption with SAS® Enterprise Guide®
When accessing a SAS Workspace Server through a SAS Metadata Server,
SAS Enterprise Guide 4.1 can experience some significant performance
problems. This occurs when the encryption is set to "Everything"
in the SAS Workspace server definition.
The workarounds are to either encrypt only "Credentials" or to apply
the hot fix listed under the Hot Fix tab. To change the encryption level:
- Open SAS® Management Console.
- Expand Server Manager then expand the logical workspace server
definition.
- Right-click the connection definition in the right hand pane and
select Properties.
- Click Options then click Advanced Options and the Encryption tab.
- After changing any encryption level, the SAS Object Spawner must be
restarted.
Select the Hot Fix tab in this note to access the hot fix for this issue.
