Problem Note 19088: KCVT function has problem handling trailing null character

DetailsHotfixAboutRate It

When you use the trailing null character with the KCVT() function, the results you receive in SAS® 8 and SAS® 9 are different from the results you received in SAS® 6.12.

This example illustrates the problem:

data; a="8182830000"x; length b $200; b=kcvt(a,'ibm','sjis'); put b $hex40.; run;

The results given in SAS 6.12 were correct. The results given in SAS 8 and SAS 9 are incorrect.
