Problem Note 19817: A remote exception error might occur in SASĀ® Marketing Automation when you schedule a campaign with multiple communications
When you schedule or execute a campaign (as opposed to individual
communications) in SAS Marketing Automation, you might receive the
following error message (or a similar message):
com.sas.analytics.crm.error.client.InfrastructureException:
java.rmi.ServerException: RemoteException occurred in server thread;
nested exception is: java.rmi.RemoteException: Error in ejbCreate:;
nested exception is: javax.ejb.CreateException: Error initializing
foundation services:
Unable to obtain a connection to the SAS Metadata Server.
sam.S250.ex.msg: The server host name server.name.domain.com could
not be resolved to an IP address.
Make sure that the value provided is correct.
This error is generated because two threads within the campaign diagram
are attemting to access the same information-map object at the same
time.
To work around this problem, do either of the following actions:
- Set the "Maximum number of concurrent processes per diagram" field to
1 on the Environment tab of the SAS Marketing Automation
Administration plug-in in SAS® Management Console.
Note: this solution can potentially create performance overhead.
- Schedule and execute communications individually rather than as a
whole campaign.
