Usage Note 19758: The DLLchecker.bat utility registers MDAC and JET .DLL files in XP
Service Pack 2
If you have a problem with the MDAC 2.8 SP1 or the JET 4.0 SP8 .DLL
files for Windows XP Service Pack 2, run the Microsoft Component Checker
that you can download from the Microsoft Web site. When the Component
Checker reports that MDAC is okay, download DLLchecker.zip from
http://ftp.sas.com/techsup/download/pc/. Then extract and run
DLLchecker.bat. DLLchecker.bat checks for the existence of the MDAC and
JET .DLL files in Windows XP Service Pack 2, and it runs regsrv32.exe
when appropriate.
If registration is successful, you will receive the following message:
DllRegisterServer in <filename> succeeded.
If the message reports anything other than a successful registration,
make a note of the message. If the message is "Return code was:
0x80004005", you need to log in as the PC administrator and re-run
DLLchecker.bat.
If DLLchecker.bat seems to hang or freeze, make sure that your
DllRegisterServer pop-up dialog box is not hidden by another window or
dialog box.
You can suppress the DllRegisterServer pop-up dialog box by running the
batch file with the following command-line parameter switch.
(NOTE: The .DLL files will still be registered.)
dllchecker.bat s
Multiple runs of DLLchecker.bat are okay.
