Usage Note 19597: Create an external link in SAS® Web Report Studio that opens a stored process in the SAS® Stored Process Web Application
SAS Web Report Studio can render stored processes only when they conform to a specific set of rules. In some cases, if the stored process includes unsupported syntax, there is no output in SAS Web Report Studio. In other cases, an error message can occur. For more information, see SAS Note 47839, "SAS Web Report Studio can render stored processes only when they confirm to a specific set of rules."
For full stored process support, you can use SAS Stored Process Web Application, which is specifically designed to display output from stored processes. For more information, see Using the SAS® Stored Process Web Application Pages in the SAS Stored Processes: Developer's Guide.
If you still want to use SAS Web Report Studio to access your stored processes, then you can create an external link in SAS Web Report Studio that launches the stored process in the SAS Stored Process Web Application by following these steps:
- Log on to the SAS Stored Process Web Application.
- Navigate to the location of the stored process.
- Right-click the stored process and select to open it in a new window.
- Copy the URL from the URL bar.
- Log on to SAS Web Report Studio, and add a text object.
- Enter some text, and then select the portion of the text that you want to use as the link to the stored process.
- Select Link destination: A web page.
- Paste in the URL and enter appropriate tooltip text.
- Click OK and save the report.
- Test the link in view mode.
The stored process opens in a new window. If there are any prompts, they should be displayed first.
Here is a simple example of how the links might appear in a SAS Web Report Studio report.
