Usage Note 19331: Recommended graphics options when creating PDF output using SAS/GRAPH® software and ODS
It is recommended that you use the SASPRTC device driver together with the ODS PDF statement when creating PDF output with SAS/GRAPH software. The following code demonstrates the recommended method to use when creating PDF output with SAS/GRAPH and ODS:
goptions reset=goptions device=SASPRTC;
ods _all_ close;
ods pdf file='sastest.pdf';
/* Your SAS procedure code goes here */
ods pdf close;
ods listing;
Here are some notes about the sample code shown above:
1. The code above produces a PDF document in portrait mode. To create the PDF document in landscape mode, add the following OPTIONS statement to the code, before the ODS PDF FILE= statement:
options orientation=landscape;
2. The SASPRTC device driver produces graphics output in color. For grayscale graphics output, use the SASPRTG device driver for the DEVICE= option in the GOPTIONS statement. For black and white output, use the SASPRTM device driver.
3. The code produces a PDF document with a table of contents on the left-hand side. To produce a PDF document without a table of contents, add the NOTOC option to the end of the ODS PDF FILE= statement.
4. The SASPRTC, SASPRTG, and SASPRTM device drivers support the following hardware fonts (in addition to the SAS supplied hardware fonts such as Albany AMT, Cumberland AMT, and Thorndale AMT):
Helvetica
Helvetica/oblique
Helvetica/bold
Helvetica/bold/oblique
