Usage Note 19280: SAS Remote Services and Tomcat will not start after the Oracle9i Release 1.3.1 client software is installed
After you install the Oracle 9i Release 2 Client software, you might have
problems starting SAS Remote Services (SAS Services Application) and Tomcat.
The wrapper.log file, which is located in your
...Lev1webDeploymentsRemoteServiceslogs
directory, might show the
following error:
java.lang.NoSuchMethodError
To circumvent this problem, edit your Windows PATH system variable, and
make sure the JRE directory that is required for SAS 9.1.3 appears
first in the directories that are listed. The JRE directory for SAS 9.1.3 must precede any JRE directories that are required by your Oracle client
software, in order for SAS Remote Services, Tomcat, and other SAS BI
Client components to function properly.
To edit the Windows PATH system variable:
- Right-click the My Computer icon and then select
Properties
.
- Click the Advanced tab, and then click
Environment Variables
.
- Locate and select the PATH system variable from the System variables section near the bottom of the
Environment Variables
dialog box and select Edit
.
