Problem Note 18874: The "Update SAS Data Integration Studio Metadata" tool in SASĀ® Management Console does not automatically register all occurrences of custom trees on a metadata server
If a metadata repository contains more than one "SAS ETL Studio Custom
Tree" or "SAS Data Integration Studio Custom Tree", the "Update SAS Data
Integration Studio Metadata" tool within SAS Management Console only
registers the first custom tree that the software encounters.
Currently, the only workaround is to continue executing the update tool
until all of the custom trees are properly registered. You can
accomplish this by performing the following steps:
- Open SAS Management Console and log on as the unrestricted user.
- Open SAS® Data Integration Studio and log on as the unrestricted
user to the lowest, dependent (custom) repository that is defined
within the metadata server. If no dependent, custom repositories
exist, then just log on to Foundation SAS®. (See the additional
note below for more details.)
- Select the Custom tab within SAS® Data Integration Studio; then
expand each of the repositories.
- Note the current number of "SAS Data Integration Studio Custom
Tree" folders that are under each repository.
- Return to SAS Management Console and execute the "Update SAS Data
Integration Studio Metadata" tool from the Tools menu.
- Return to SAS Data Integration Studio and refresh each repository
from the Custom tab. Then check for any additional custom tree
folders.
- Repeat this process until no additional custom tree folders appear
under any of the Foundation SAS or Custom repositories that are
defined on the metadata server.
Note: If you have multiple Custom repositories that form separate,
dependent branches off of the Foundation SAS repository, you may need to
open multiple sessions of SAS Data Integration Studio in order to check
all repositories for new custom tree folders.
