Problem Note 18416: Executing a diagram that references a link node in SASĀ® Marketing Automation 4.4 causes potential performance problems or returns incorrect counts
If a campaign diagram references a link node when you execute or
schedule a campaign with Campaign Studio in SAS Marketing Automation
4.4, you can either have performance degradation or have incorrect
counts returned.
If the link node's cell is an 'On Change' cell, then executing the
campaign will execute the SQL for the entire linked diagram. However,
SAS Marketing Automation ignores the new table and uses the data from
the original cell. This scenario causes performance degradation. The "On
Change" cell has counts, but degradation occurs because the SQL was run
previously and . does not need to be rerun. No workaround exists for
this degradation. However, the counts that are returned will be correct.
If the link node's cell is a 'Dynamic' cell, the same process occurs but
it returns the original count, which might be incorrect. A dynamic cell
should execute the diagram and return the new counts. You can avoid this
problem when you link to a dynamic cell by executing the linked diagram
before you run your campaign.
