Usage Note 18389: IKernel.exe errors might occur when you install Base SAS® software on the Windows platform

When you install SAS on the Windows platform, you might receive one of the following errors related to the Flexera IKernel executable:

For software releases that are not yet generally available, the Fixed
Release is the software release in which the problem is planned to be
fixed.
"Setup failed to launch installation engine: Error loading type
library/DLL".
"Error installing IKernel.exe, access is denied."
"Error extracting support files." If this problem occurs, use the following steps to navigate to the Flexera website and then access Knowledge Base article Q111519:
- Navigate to the Flexera website.
- Click Knowledge Base.
- Click Installation/Application Readiness Products.
- In the Search box, enter Q111519. From the Product drop-down menu, select InstallShield.
- Click Go.
- Follow the steps within the article.
Note: When you do this search, the article might be included within a newer article rather than as a separate article.
