Problem Note 18774: "Unable to access" errors when opening compressed data sets with SAS
Add-In for Microsoft Office
When using the SAS Add-In for Microsoft Office to insert a SAS data set
into an Excel worksheet, the following error will be generated if the
data set is compressed and is opened through the local file system.
Unable to access <path to SAS data set name>. The data source is
using an unsupported compression type.
Opening the compressed data set from the Metadata server and its
respective library instead of through the local file system should
circumvent the problem.
Correction of this issue is being considered for a future software
release.
