Problem Note 18553: Import Data task might fail to read all Microsoft Excel rows using SAS®
Enterprise Guide®
Certain Microsoft Excel files might not import properly in SAS
Enterprise Guide. In some cases rows of data can be missing, and in some
cases the number of rows is increased. This can occur when the data
contains LF and CR characters. In some cases the problem occurs because
one or more columns have missing values for the first eight or more
rows.
To circumvent the problem, apply the latest hotfix for the version of
SAS Enterprise Guide you are using, then change the following registry
setting:
Start ► Run ► Regedit ►
HKEY LOCAL MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Jet\4.0\Engines\Excel
then change TypeGuessRows from 8 to 0 (zero).
Select the Hot Fix tab in this note to access the hot fix for this issue.
