Usage Note 17080: Setting up SAS® to read data in the Japanese language
This example uses SAS® 9.4 and Windows 7.
- If you can read Japanese, install the Japanese edition of SAS. Otherwise, use the English edition with double-byte character set (DBCS). (See SAS Note 18317: "The default SAS® double-byte character set (DBCS) session locale is set to Japanese on SAS®9 already.")
- Re-set regional and language settings for your PC:
- Select Start ► Control Panel.
- Click Region and Language.
- In the Region and Language dialog box, click the Administrative tab.
- On the Administrative tab, click the Change system locale button to display the Region and Language Settings dialog box.
- From the drop-down list, select your system locale value Japanese(Japan) and click OK.
- Restart your computer.
