Problem Note 17789: "Invalid data length" error received when importing .shp file with PROC
MAPIMPORT
The following errors may occur when importing a .shp file using PROC
MAPIMPORT:
ERROR: Invalid data length.
ERROR: Unknown error encountered while processing .shp file.
This problem has occurred when importing .shp files containing records
that are very long (2,622,628 bytes). This length exceeds the amount of
data that SAS can read at one time. The problem may also occur if
polygons in the map include a large number of data points and are very
detailed.
There is currently no circumvention for this problem.
