When running the Japanese version of SAS^® 9 and the Object Spawner has been started with the parameter "applevel=2', 'NOTE' messages may fail to write to the local SAS Log and Japanese characters may fail to write to the IOM Server Log (Workspace, Stored Process, OLAP). In some cases, options can be missing from the SAS Log when running procedures such as PROC OPTIONS.

The problem occurs when the APPLEVEL parameter is specified within an IOM Server definition in SAS Management Console or on the OBJECTSERVERPARMS SAS option. For example, setting the OBJECTSERVERPARMS option in the SAS configuration file:

To circumvention the problem, remove the APPLEVEL parameter from the OBJECTSERVERPARMS SAS option.
