Problem Note 17600: Variables that are not unique in the first 28 characters are not given correct imputed variable names
If an input data set used in SAS
® Enterprise Miner
TM has variable names that are greater than 28 characters, and if two or more variable names are identical in the first 28 characters, the Impute node creates multiple imputed variables with the same name. The new variable name consists of a prefix of
IMP_ followed by the first 28 characters of the original variable. Therefore, if two variables are exactly the same in the first 28 characters, only 1 imputed variable is created.
This is not correct. It should create an unique imputed variable name for each unique variable.
There are no warnings or errors to indicate the problem has occurred.
For example, suppose the Input Data Source has the following input variables:
THIS_IS_LONG_VARIABLE_NAME_XX_1
THIS_IS_LONG_VARIABLE_NAME_XX_2
The Input node will assign both variables the same name:
IMP_THIS_IS_LONG_VARIABLE_NAME_X
