Usage Note 17550: An SEC6 abend with reason code 0F01C008 occurs when UNIX System Services (USS) limits are reached
A system abend code SEC6 with a reason code of 0F01C008 indicates that you have exceeded a USS limit.
Check the OMVS limits to see whether there are any cases in which the Current Usage and the System Limit values (see sample output, below) are the same. If so, increase the limit for that resource. Also check the high order 2 bytes in Register 3 (R3) and see this SAS Note for more information about which limit is being reached: SAS Note 18193: "System abend SEC6 reason code 0F01C008"
To check the OMVS limits, issue the following MVS command and look at
the output to determine whether this is the cause:
D OMVS, LIMITS
These are the four parameters in the BPXPRMxx PARMLIB member that commonly affect
SAS:
- MAXPROCSYS
- MAXUIDS
- MAXPTYS
- MAXPROCUSER
The following is sample output of the command D OMVS,LIMITS. The first number represents the Current Usage. The second number represents the Highwater Usage, and the third number represents the System Limit.
