When creating a query in SAS Human Captial Management 3.1 (HCM), if you define a filter that is based on a column generated with a SUBSTR function, you may experience the following error message:
"java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Unable to open data set: WORK.VIEW0"
It is important to make sure that when creating calculated columns with the SUBSTR function, that the new column be defined as "character" in the query properties page.
