Problem Note 17059: Garbage Email with 'CSV' extension in SAS 9.1 and above from z/OS
When emailing a file using the SAS EMAIL Engine from z/OS with a 'CSV'
extension, you may receive a corrupted file in Microsoft Outlook. To
correct the problem, you must change the CSV entry in the SAS Registry
from "application/vnd.ms-excel" to "text/plain".
Follow these steps to change the 'CSV' entry in the SAS registry.
Execute your SAS CLIST on the Mainframe. From the Program Editor at the
Command Prompt type "regedit" (see below)

A window with SAS Registry will be displayed
On the left side of the screen,
Put your cursor over top of the two boxes next to "CORE" and hit enter,
Under "CORE" put your cursor on top of the two boxes next to "FILETYPES"
and hit enter,
Under "FILETYPES" put your cursor next to "CSV" and hit enter
on the right side of the screen, put cursor next to 'CONTENTTYPE" to
highlight the following:
CONTENTTYPE "application/vnd,
move your cursor to the top of the screen over Edit and hit enter
move cusor to Modify under Edit and hit enter
Change "Value Data:" from "application/vnd.ms-excel" to "text/plain"
and hit ok in the lower left corner
WARNING: The above will change how we handle sending all attachments
with the "CSV" extension.
