Problem Note 16391: Floating Point Exception error occurs when PICTURE format maps missing values

DetailsHotfixAboutRate It

A PICTURE format that maps missing values can cause a Floating Point Exception error in threaded procedures, such as MEANS, SUMMARY, or TABULATE. In order for this error to occur, both the MISSING option and threading must be in effect.

The following example will produce the error:

proc format; picture abc other ='99999'; run; data temp; input class @@; x=1; cards; 1 2 1 2 . 2 1 . ; run; proc summary threads print missing; var x; class class; format class abc.; run;

To circumvent the problem, use the NOTHREADS option on the PROC statement.
