Problem Note 16040: Incorrect Library Engine type displayed in New Library Wizard when
changing Engine types
In the New Library Wizard located under the Data Library Manager Plugin,
once a Library engine type (ie. DB2, MySQL, SAS Base, etc.) has been
selected and the "next" button is pressed, the Library engine type can
not be changed. Regardless of selecting the "back" button and changing
the Library engine type on the initial New Library Wizard screen, the
Library engine type that is displayed reflects the Library engine that
was initially selected. The New Library Wizard does not switch to the
corresponding properties window in respect to the Library engine.
The following steps will reproduce the problem:
- In SAS® Management Console, select the Data Library Manager
plugin, then select the SAS Libraries folder.
- Using the Right Mouse button, select "New Library".
- Select "SAS Base Engine Library", select "Next".
- Enter a Name for the library, select "Next".
- The Library reference window will display the "BASE" Library
engine.
- Select "Back" to go to the first step of "New Library Wizard".
- Select "Oracle Library".
- Click "Next" twice.
The Library properties on the window is still for "SAS Base Engine
Library" rather than "Oracle Library".
To circumvent the problem, cancel out of the current New Library Wizard
and restart the process choosing the correct Library type.
