Problem Note 16872: The SAS/CONNECT® spawner on a UNIX server does not respond and no longer accepts sign ons

On UNIX remote servers, the SAS/CONNECT sign-on facility might be working, but connections fail to be established, and the following error message appears in the local SAS og window:
Error: Cannot start remote process.
When this failure occurs, no other successful sign-ons work until you restart the spawner.
This problem has been fixed in SAS 9.1 TS1M3 SP4 and later releases. However, a SASTCPD module is available for earlier releases that will fix the problem. Contact SAS Technical Support if you need this module.
