Usage Note 16596: "Error: Oracle connection error: ORA-12154: TNS could not resolve
service name"
Using an Oracle Names Server instead of TNSNAMES.ORA file will cause
sporadic TNS-12154 errors with SAS/Access Interface to Oracle. This is
an Oracle BUG which is reported on the Oracle Metalink site. The
website is:
https://metalink.oracle.com
Suggested keywords for your search are: CLIENT CONNECTIONS
STAY ESTABLISHED CONNECTING VIA ORACLE NAMES WHEN USING NAMES
SERVER.
When you have multiple LIBNAME statments with different schema names,
you are opening a new connection with each schema name and that will
cause
this error message. The work around to this problem is to use
TSNAMES.ORA instead of the Oracle Names Server.
