Usage Note 16566: "ERROR: Unable to launch the process; LoadUserProfile returned rc 5
(Access is denied)"
The following error messages might appear in the object spawner log when
you are using the object spawner:
ERROR: Unable to launch the process; LoadUserProfile returned rc 5
(Access is denied).
ERROR: Unable to launch the process; LoadUserProfile returned rc 5
(Access is denied).
ERROR: The process cannot be launched for client xxxxxx\sassrv.
ERROR: Failed to launch the server (xxxxxx) on behalf of load
balancing.
WARNING: An error occurred while server (xxxxxx) was starting. Now
attempting a different server.
These error messages might be related to profile issues.
To correct this problem, follow these steps:
1. Open Windows Explorer.
2. Highlight your drive or directory, right click, and select
Properties.
3. Click the Security tab.
4. Click the Advanced button.
5. Highlight or add the necessary user or group (for this example,
"SAS Server Users").
6. Under Permissions in the Allow column, click the check box by Read
7. Click SAS Server Users, again.
8. On the Permissions Tab, highlight SAS Server Users and click Edit.
9. Click the check box "Apply these permissions to objects and/or
containers within this container only." (This selelction is at the
bottom of the Advanced Security Settings window.)
10. Click Apply or OK.
This example uses the "SAS Server Users" group; however, you can use any
user or group.
