Usage Note 16082: Upgrading from Enterprise Miner 5.1 to Enterprise Miner 5.2
If you are currently using Enterprise Miner 5.1 Personal Workstation
and wish to upgrade to Enterprise Miner 5.2 you should follow
the installation steps documented in this SAS Note rather than
the steps from the Installation site.
If you are upgrading a Personal Workstation install (as installed
from the "Enterprise Miner, one machine" sample plan)from 5.1 to 5.2
follow the steps below. However, if you are upgrading a multi-machine
install that was initially performed with the "Enterprise Miner, two
machine plan", follow the steps from the sasnote at this link:
#016200
Personal Workstation Install:
1) Backup the metadata repository.
For backup instructions, see the section "'Using the %OMABACKUP Macro
to perform backups and restores" in the SAS® 9.1.3 Intelligence
Platform System Administration Guide.

Here is the link to the online version of this document.

If you previously installed using the Enterprise Miner, one machine
sample plan and accepted the defaults, the code to run the backup
would look similar to this:
options metaserver='localhost'
metaport=8561
metaprotocol=bridge
metauser='<domainuserid>'
metapass='<password>'
metarepository='Foundation';
%omabakup(destinationpath="c:saseminerlev1sasbackup",
serverstartpath="c:saseminerlev1sasmain",
rposmgrpath="metadataserver
posmgr");
run;
Note: You must create the folder specified for the destinationpath
prior to running the code.
2) Stop the services
Start -> Programs -> SAS -> EMiner -> Stop Object Spawner
Start -> Programs -> SAS -> EMiner -> Stop Metadata Server
3) Insert the SAS Software Navigator CD
4) Specify the location of your SID file when prompted
5) Select Standard plan and choose the plan named:
'Enterprise Miner 5.1 upgrade to 5.2 on one machine'
6) Install the components specified in the plan
Note: Foundation SAS is included in the plan. There are foundation
SAS components that need to be updated for Enterprise Miner 5.2 to
work correctly. The installer will detect that SAS is already
installed and present the choices to 'Add Components to SAS' or
'Install a new instance of SAS'. Take the default 'Add Components
to SAS'. On the 'Select Components' screen, all products licensed
are selected, accept this default by clicking 'NEXT' to ensure
that all components are correctly updated.
7) Once the install has finished, download the Analytics platform
shortcut hotfix from this link:
http://ftp.sas.com/techsup/download/hotfix/dmine_cl52.html
8) Restart the Services
Start -> Programs -> SAS -> EMiner -> Start Metadata Server
Start -> Programs -> SAS -> EMiner -> Start Object Spawner
9) Configure the Analytics Platform Server by going to:
Start -> Programs -> SAS -> Analytics Platform -> AP Server Advanced
Configuration.
Specify the metadata server host name and port (the default port
is 8561), your login userid and password. Don't forget
to include the domain prior to the userid for the Logon.
For example, domainuserid.
If you are not sure what values to supply, you can review the values
used in the EM 5.1 configuration by invoking the EM 5.1 Advanced
Configuration window and noting the values indicated for
the host, port and username.
More information on the Analytics Platform server can be found
at: http://support.sas.com/documentation/onlinedoc/apcore
10) Launch Enterprise Miner 5.2:
Start -> Programs -> SAS -> Enterprise Miner 5.2 -> Enterprise Miner
In the Log On window, select Personal Workstation, enter your userid
(including the domain) and password and click 'Log On'.
Refer to the SAS Enterprise Miner on-line help for more information
on further customizing your Enterprise Miner Environment.
11) Once the install is complete, Enterprise Miner 5.1 will no
longer work correctly. Uninstall Enterprise Miner 5.1 by
going to Start -> Settings -> Control Panel, Add or Remove Programs
