Problem Note 15182: "Acrobat Reader required" when opening PDF user's guides for Web Report Studio, Financial Management, and Peformance Management

The help systems for Web Report Studio, SAS Financial Management 1.4, and SAS Strategic Performance Management contain a PDF document embedded within help. The Help system for these products checks for the version of Adobe Reader that you have loaded on your machine. If that version is not Adobe Reader 6.0.1 or 6.0.2, the following error message appears and the PDF file does not open:

Acrobat Reader required.

Note: This error message appears if you have Acrobat Reader 6.0.0 or earlier, 6.0.3, or 7.0.0 or later.

Two workarounds exist for this issue:

  • Download either Acrobat 6.0.1 or Acrobat 6.0.2 from Adobe's Web site http://www.adobe.com.
  • Download and apply the update referenced below.
