Problem Note 15911: PROC SURVEYMEANS may abnormally terminate with crossed terms on the DOMAIN statement

If two or more variables are joined by asterisks (*) on the DOMAIN statement in PROC SURVEYMEANS, as in DOMAIN variable1*variable2, the procedure may terminate with an error message such as:
ERROR: Read Access Violation In Task [ SURVEYMEANS )
This problem has been observed intermittently and it is not possible to predict when it might occur.
To circumvent this problem, create a single variable by concatenating the domain variables in a DATA step, and use the single variable on the DOMAIN statement. For example
data one;
set one;
ABC=A||B||C;
run;
proc surveymeans data=one;
var x;
weight wt;
* instead of "domain A*B*C;", use ;
* the term created in the DATA step ;
domain ABC;
run;
