Problem Note 15353: Filters used in IMPORTAD.SAS sample do not work with Active Directory
2003
The sample program IMPORTAD.SAS that is used to import users from
Active Directory will not work with Active Directory 2003.
The following messages may be displayed when running the IMPORTAD.SAS
program:
WARNING: No results found.
filter=(&(name>='A')(name<='H')(objectClass=group))
ERROR: Invalid handle specified.
WARNING: No results found.
filter=(&(name>='H')(name<='P')(objectClass=group))
ERROR: Invalid handle specified.
NOTE: The data set WORK.LDAPGRPS has 363 observations and 7 variables.
NOTE: DATA statement used (Total process time):
The Active Directory 2003 servers do not accept filter syntax such as:
(&(name>='A')(name<='H')(objectClass=group))
These ERROR and WARNING messages are likely to occur when there are no
instances of groups or IDs that will be captured by the filter
statements. It is a requirement to have a valid handle before calling
LDAPS_FREE.
The IMPORTAD.SAS sample was updated in SAS® 9.1.3 Service Pack 3 (SP3) to
work around this limitation. The sample can be modified to fit specific
Active Directory implementations.
