Problem Note 14240: Performing an add-on installation without a .sasprefs file in the user's $HOME directory results in Java components error message

DetailsHotfixAboutRate It
Performing an add-on installation without a .sasprefs file in the user's
$HOME directory will result in the following Java components error
message:

Errors were encountered configuring Java components for SAS.
Your !SASROOT/bin/sasenv file may be damaged or missing.

The workaround is to create a .sasprefs file in the user's $HOME
directory. Make sure you are logged in as the user who performed
the SAS installation and execute the following commands:

cd ~
touch .sasprefs
