Problem Note 14236: OpenVMS installation with an expired SID file causes errors
During installation of SAS 9 on OpenVMS Alpha, if the first SID you
designate during the install contains an expired SETINIT, the install
program complains. If you then designate a SID file with a valid
SETINIT, the install proceeds. However, when the install gets to the
section where it actually applies the SETINIT, an error will occur
indicating that the SETINIT has expired.
To avoid the problem, be sure that you point your installation to a SID
file with a valid SETINIT when installing SAS.
To recover from this issue, you can run the SASSETUP.COM file located in
your SAS$ROOT location, choose "Renew SAS Software" and apply a valid
SID file. Then, choose "Perform SAS Software Configuration", and go
through steps 1-5.
