Problem Note 14106: The JVM option is invalid: -server. Could not create the java virtual machine.

DetailsHotfixAboutRate It
When attempting to start a servlet container or web server, such as
Tomcat or Weblogic, using the startServletContainer.sh script or the
startManagedWebLogic.sh script, the following error may occur:

The JVM option is invalid: -server
Could not create the java virtual machine.

To correct the problem, verify that the CATALINA_OPTS or JAVA_OPTIONS
variables located in the scripts do not contain the -SERVER option if
running an IBM-based JDK.

The -SERVER option is only valid for SUN-based JDK systems.

In the WIK_Readme.html file, the sections "Installation Tips for Apache
Tomcat 4.1.18 on UNIX Systems" and "Installation Tips for BEA WebLogic
8.1 SP2 and SP1 on UNIX Systems" found under "STEP 10: Prepare the
Servlet container environment" are not correct for IBM-based JDK
systems.

The "SAS 9.1.3 Intelligence Platform: Web Application Administration
Guide" has the correct information under the "Quick Start Settings"
 section on page 58.

A fix for SAS 9.1.3 (9.1 TS1M3) for this issue is available at:
