Problem Note 14090: Signing on with SAS/CONNECT® software might fail with the error 'Unrecognized Userid or Password'

DetailsHotfixAboutRate It

When you use SAS/CONNECT software to sign on to PC spawner program that runs SAS® 9.1.2 or later, the sign-on might fail with following error:

User does not have 'Logon as a batch job' right.
Invalid username/password, access denied
TRACE: nouser:
TRACE:        Log 'ERROR: Unrecognized userid or password.';
ERROR: Unrecognized userid or password.

The SAS 9.1 spawner now enables an interactive logonn rather than batch logons. However, with this change, any users that connect to the SAS/CONNECT spawner need to be able to log on to the server interactively. If a user cannot log on to the server interactively, the sign-on fails.

As a workaround, each user that connects to the server needs to have the 'Log on Locally' user permission set. In the Windows 2003 Server operating environemnt, users also need the 'Log on as a Batch Job' permission to be set.
