When using a client (ie. Enterprise Guide) to publish to a channel, the
following error may be displayed:

   Publish failed!  Reason was "[Error] Error encountered while
   searching for the channel defined in the SAS Metadata Repository."

On the machine where the SAS Metadata Server is running, the SAS
Metadata Server Log may display something similar:

   20041201:14.41.23.54: 00000374:  19:SASDSR@: There is an illegal
   character in the name.  20041201:14.41.23.54: 00000374:  19:sasdsr:
   IOM RETURN -1={compRef:16590430}->OMI::GetMetadataObjects() : text=<?
   xml version="1.0" ?  ><Exceptions><Exception><SASMessage
   severity="Error">There is an illegal character in the
   name.</SASMessage></Exception></Exceptions>

This error is likely to occur when the SAS Server is on MVS, the
NLSCOMPATMODE option is enabled, and the session encoding is set to a
non-CEPC1047 value.
