Usage Note 14903: "ERROR: No BY statement used or no BY variable specified" with NODUP
option in PROC SORT
When you eliminate exact duplicate records where every variable is
identical by using a PROC SORT with the NODUPRECS (that is, NODUP)
option, the following error message might appear:
ERROR: No BY statement used or no BY variables specified. A BY
statement must be used with variable names to sort on.
Include the BY_ALL_ statement after the PROC SORT statement. For
example:
proc sort data=all out=one noduprecs;
by _all_;
