Usage Note 14860: Attempt to apply SETINIT/SID which results in message ERROR: WRITE
ACCESS
DENIED
If you applying a SETINIT/SID and receive the following message:
ERROR: WRITE ACCESS TO MEMBER SASHELP.CORE.CATALOG IS DENIED.
The problem is typically attributed to the SETINIT option not being set
at invocation of SAS. However, another possibility is that the SASHELP=
option is being specified. The easiest way to see if the SASHELP=
option is set is to specify the VERBOSE option. The VERBOSE option will
write out the options as they are being set during SAS initialization.
Order of precedence for options is: Default Options table, CONFIG
file(s), Invocation options, and Restricted Options Table. Options can
be set multiple times and in different locations. The value in effect
is based on where last set.
To circumvent the problem, remove any setting of the SASHELP= option.
