Usage Note 14852: Attempt to SIGNON to a remote host on a domain controller may fail
The following messages may be received when attempting to SIGNON to a
remote PC Spawner that is running on a Domain Controller:
NOTE: Script file 'tcpwin.scr' entered.
ERROR: Unrecognized userid or password.
ERROR: A communication subsystem partner link setup request failure
has occurred.
ERROR: Communication script processing aborted.
ERROR: Remote signon to LOCAL cancelled.
This will occur because a Windows 2000 Active Directory domain, by
definition of Microsoft, precludes the ability to have local logins.
Since this is a Microsoft restriction, SAS can not provide a
circumvention. SAS/CONNECT will pass the Userid and Password supplied
during the SIGNON process which, in this case, will be denied by the
Operating System.
As a possible workaround, use SSPI (Security Support Provider Interface)
authentication. SSPI does not require the passing of userid and
passwords.
For Example:
options remote=rem;
signon noscript;

For software releases that are not yet generally available, the Fixed
Release is the software release in which the problem is planned to be
fixed.
