Usage Note 14818: "Unable to relay" error messages when using SMTP email
When you send send email using the SMTP email method, the following
error message appears:
WARNING: Email: 550 5.7.1 Unable to relay for (emailid recipient).
This can have serveral causes:
* The emailhost parameter has not been specified correctly or
not at all in the SAS configuration file.
* If you run email in a stored process and emailsys is set to SMTP
in the FILENAME statement, look for the location of -EMAILSYS
in the stored process server configuration file. If the -EMAILSYS
is set before the -CONFIG in the stored process server
configuration file, the other configuration file overrides the
setting.
* If the SMTP email server does not allow relaying of userIDs to
outside userIDs. For more information on this issue,
see the Microsoft Knowledge base article:

* If you are running an SMTP server on a Microsoft host.
